A lifelong Joliet resident and board member since 1984, James Blackburn has served in the past as vice-chairman of the board’s Public Works Committee and has made infrastructure improvement a priority.   As county population and business growth has accelerated, he worked to bring state and federal transportation funding to the county for projects such as improvements of Plainfield-Naperville Road, the widening of Ill. Route 59 and the widening of Caton Farm Road to five lanes from two.

            Blackburn currently is the vice-chair of the Public Health & Safety Committee.  He also is Vice-President of the Forest Preserve District of Will County.

            Mr. Blackburn is a member of the Will County Chamber of Commerce, the Knights of Columbus and the Moran Athletic Club.  Professionally, he is a Realtor for Coldwell-Banker.
