Robert was appointed to the board in 2011.  He currently serves on the Judicial Committee.

Howard is a lifelong resident of Beecher and a graduate of Beecher High School. For the past six years, Howard has served as the Washington Township Supervisor and was named Township Supervisor of the Year in 2010. During his tenure, the township instituted many new services and programs that have proven to be successful and fiscally responsible to the taxpayers. For example, a transportation service for seniors and the disabled started out with a single bus and only ran two days a week, with a few rides a month. Under Howard’s leadership and by securing RTA grants, the service now has three buses, runs five days a week, and makes occasional trips on the weekends. Currently, the township is looking into expanding service outside of the township to fill the void left by the closing of Southland Senior Services. Other senior programs include prom, holiday activities, educational breakfasts, and an exercise class that is open to all ages.

For the past 10 years, he has worked in the construction industry representing working men and women in the carpenters’ union. Prior to that, he worked as a construction project manager for 20 years.

He is married to his wife, Mary, and they have four children.
