Mimi Cowan, District 11 (D-Naperville) County Board Speaker
Dr. Mimi Cowan grew up in the community she represents. After graduating summa cum laude with a BA from North Central College in Music and Communications, she worked at some of the top opera companies across the country. She went on to earn a Master’s Degree at the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a Ph.D. in History from Boston College. She has taught American History, Urban Studies, and Immigration History courses at Boston College, Lake Forest College, and North Central College. Dr. Cowan is passionate about maintaining a conservative long term fiscal plan for the county while providing necessary services and protecting our natural resources and forest preserve areas.
