Will County Consolidated 911 Center Goes Live

Facility housed in new Public Safety Complex

JOLIET— Will County's new consolidated 911 Dispatch Center and Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) goes live this week bringing together  31 separate communities under one centralized roof to better coordinate and respond to emergencies.  The consolidation is one of the first and largest in the state.

"I'm very proud of the Will County Board for rising to the occasion and working with the ETSB on the mandate they received by the state to consolidate," said Board Speaker Jim Moustis (R-Frankfort). "With the Board's help, 31 communities will now be better served by this one single state-of-the-art facility."

JOLIET— Members of the Will County Board toured the new Public Safety Complex today as the building enters its final phases of construction. Construction is slated for completion in December, and some offices will move into the building as soon as September 1, 2017.

“It’s exciting to see the building take shape after so many months of planning and deliberation,” said Ray Tuminello (R-New Lenox), Chair of the Capital Improvements Committee. “Everyone has been working hard and is eager to see the Complex open in December.”

Board Members Tour New Public Safety Complex

Construction ahead of schedule and under budget

JOLIET, IL – Will County Board members decided to check the progress of one of the county's biggest capital improvement projects late last month. Jim Moustis (R-Frankfort), Gloria Dollinger (R-Joliet), and Don Moran (D-Romeoville) visited the new Public Safety Complex in Joliet, which is now ahead of schedule and under budget thanks to an accelerated contract.

"It was rewarding to see the construction of the Public Safety Complex coming along so well," said Board Speaker Jim Moustis. "The project has been a great example of the county board leadership's efforts to make the lives of Will County residents safer."

Construction on the Public Safety Complex began in October 2016, and was initially estimated to be completed by March 2018 at a cost of $29.5 million. The building should be complete three months early, in December 2017, thanks to an accelerated contract.
