Parker Appointed to Cornerstone Board
Aims to help individuals with disabilities
"I am honored to be a member of Cornerstone's Board of Directors," Parker said. "Cornerstone provides essential services to those with disabilities so they can lead more independent lives. I look forward to working with the other board members and the Cornerstone staff to advocate for those in Will County who need a little bit more help getting their voices heard."
Cornerstone Services was established in 1969 as a sheltered workshop in Will County. Today, the agency aids individuals with disabilities with behavioral health, community, employment, and housing services. Last year, Cornerstone helped individuals with disabilities secure 171 new jobs. About 250 individuals with disabilities benefit from Cornerstone's residential services, and in total Cornerstone serves about 1,140 adults and children with disabilities throughout Will and Kankakee counties.
