Tyler Marcum was elected to the Board in 2016 after serving on the Joliet Township High School Board for three years.  He is a lifelong resident of Joliet and has been a volunteer for Relay for Life for 15 years. Tyler is also a member of the J.T.H.S. Foundation, as well as the Alumni Association. In 2014, former Governor Pat Quinn selected him to represent all of Illinois' school boards on the Young Adult Heroin Task Force.

Tyler graduated from Benedictine University in Lisle with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in music. He was a four-year NCAA football player, and also the treasurer and president of the Political Science Student Association. He served as a Public Service Fellow with the Center for Civic Leadership under the direction of former Attorney General Jim Ryan.

Tyler and his wife Beth have been married since January 2016 and reside in Joliet.
