The Board joined Will County elected officials to cut the ribbon on the new Recorder of Deeds and the Coroner’s offices at 158 N. Scott Street. The county purchased and remodeled the former Social Security building as part of its master plan to improve and consolidate county services, saving taxpayers $250,000/year in lease costs (1/20/2015)
County officials joined with leaders from First Midwest Bank to assume possession of First Midwest Bank Building's, 50 W. Jefferson Street, upper floors. The county is planning to relocate sheriff's operations to the downtown Joliet building in 2015. (12/10/14)

The Will County Board unanimously elected Herbert Brooks, Jr. (D-Joliet) as its speaker. Democratic members then elected Diane Zigrossi (D-Lockport) as their party chair; and Republicans elected Jim Moustis (R-Frankfort) as their party chair. (12/03/12)
The Will County Board and Auditor Duffy Blackburn accepted an award from the Illinois Policy Institute in connection with its Local Transparency Project, ranking the county fifth out of more than 180 Illinois government bodies (09/20/12)
The Will County Women’s Caucus, a newly formed organization within the Will County Board, sponsored a clothing drive to benefit the H.E.A.R.T. Organization in Bolingbrook. Long or short-sleeved, men’s and women’s white dress shirts are being collected for the organization. The mission of this caucus is to develop and enhance leadership skills through networking, education, idea forums, and mentorship for its members and all women in the county. (07/19/12)
Will County was the recipient of a Sunny Award, which honors the most transparent government websites in the nation. The county received a perfect transparency score. Sunshine Review, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to government transparency, analyzed more than 6,000 government websites before giving the award to less than four percent of those (03/15/12)
