Board appoints Darren Bennefield to fill vacated District 5 seat
Will serve out remainder of Lee Ann Goodson's term
JOLIET, IL – The Will County Board today appointed Darren Bennefield (R-Aurora) to the District 5 seat recently vacated by Lee Ann Goodson. Bennefield will serve the remainder of the term that ends in November.
"We welcome Darren to the Board and strongly believe he will serve well the residents of District 5," said Republican Caucus Chair Jim Moustis (R-Frankfort). "Darren is a proven leader and has worked hard to earn the trust of local taxpayers. He will certainly hit the ground running to tackle the important issues we are facing this year."

Bennefield is a committeeman for Aurora's Ward 9 and previously served as a trustee on the Wheatland Township Board. He has lived in Aurora for 25 years.
"Darren brings to the Board a solid understanding and firm knowledge of the issues important to his district's residents," said Republican Caucus Whip Chuck Maher (R-Naperville). "We are fortunate to have him accept this appointment, and I look forward to working with him to make Will County a better place to live and do business."
Bennefield owns Carrington Title Partners. He took an ownership interest in the company in 2010 after working as operations manager from 2006 to 2009. Carrington specializes in residential and commercial real estate transactions, working to simplify real estate closings by making the process as smooth and quick as possible. Bennefield has 17 years of experience in the title insurance business. He attended the College of DuPage and Columbia College in Chicago.
