Board applauds passage of legislation to fund new judicial facilitiesHB5889 gives authority to impose court filing fees not exceeding $30JOLIET, IL – The Will County Board today applauded the passage of legislation that allows it to impose and collect court fees to help pay for new judicial facilities. The Illinois Senate passed HB5889 yesterday on a 46-7 vote, following the House's passage last week. Preliminary design work for the facilities could begin as soon as next month.

EGM is one of the most damaging forest and tree pests in the United States and has become permanently established in Illinois.
Board appoints Darren Bennefield to fill vacated District 5 seatWill serve out remainder of Lee Ann Goodson's term JOLIET, IL – The Will County Board today appointed Darren Bennefield (R-Aurora) to the District 5 seat recently vacated by Lee Ann Goodson. Bennefield will serve the remainder of the term that ends in November.
"We welcome Darren to the Board and strongly believe he will serve well the residents of District 5," said Republican Caucus Chair Jim Moustis (R-Frankfort).
